On your phone
Age, sex, and the symptom list temporarily remain on your phone browser cookies. They are not sent to the public map.
A public report
If you add a dot, the server stores the pattern name, the place name, the country, a map point, and the infection date. The point is rounded to under a mile, not your house. It does not store your name. A dot older than 6 months leaves the map. The row stays in the database. City names come from GeoNames.
Four a week
The browser keeps a random id so the same device can add four public dots a week. That is enough for a family. That id is not your name. This limits spamming of the map.
Map, links, and the ad
The map tiles come from OpenStreetMap. Some fixes link to Amazon. If a partner tag is on a link, the site may earn a commission, and Amazon uses its own cookies. The strip at the bottom is ad space. It is there so the reports can stay free.
Do we sell your data?
No. There is nothing to sell. An advertiser can use the public map the same way you can.
Not a diagnosis
The result is a probability from a fixed library. It is not a doctor, a hospital, or a health agency.
This is a beta app and some inner mechanics of the program are being finetuned as we go; however it is still like a truer reflection of reality than any WHO publication.
This is crowd sourced information and not linked to any person or company. The only data saved on our servers are date, place and probable pathogen. By use of this site you agree that you are not being diagnosed and the data is generalized to aid in prevention and peace of mind.
